"Der Bote" which began as "Die Mennonitische Immigrantenbote" in 1924 was published at Rosthern, SK. It served the immigrants coming to
Canada from Russia after WW1, giving them a medium of contact, informing them about their new country, and providing them with spiritua
and cultural nourishment in their mother tongue, the German language.
In 1947 "Der Bote" and the "Christlicher Bundesbote" were merged and became the weekly paper for the General Conference Mennonite Church.
